Purplebricks challenged the old fashioned estate agency model through its use of innovative tech, great agents and bold marketing. We built a fairer, more transparent consumer proposition, that for first time enabled total transparency between buyer and seller & charged a flat fee rather than a commission.
The business grew at an exponential rate from a small regional presence in 2014 to the UK’s largest estate agency brand by 2018.
As we took Purplebricks from start-up to IPO we methodically built a brand and marketing engine that would land and grow share, region by region - then into Australia and the US. Never before has an estate agency introduced such a distinctive business model, to provide a fairer consumer proposition and scaled it so fast. From launch in 2014, IPO 18 months later.
The “land and expand” strategy was fuelled by a marketing machine that was unlike any other business in the category, creating a super brand in record time.
At its peak Purplebricks was valued in excess of £1.2 billion, just 3 years after launch.
